Introduction:
Some trips stay with you forever, creating cherished memories you’ll treasure forever. One such trip for me was a road trip to The Twelve Apostles’ lookout and nearby places in Melbourne, Australia, with my friends Suraj, Nischal, and Archana. Nischal and Archana, a happily married couple, had flown from Dubai to visit me, and we were excited to tick off one of our bucket list destinations together. Our trip was filled with adventure, beautiful scenery, and unforgettable moments, making it an experience of a lifetime.
Reunion and Unexpected Hospitality:
As we all had different flight schedules, I had to wait at the airport for a few hours until Nischal and Archana arrived. We initially faced some challenges with car rentals due to last-minute planning. Still, luckily, Archana’s friend Sunita offered us her car to use during our trip, which we gratefully accepted. We rode an Uber to Sunita’s house, received a warm welcome, and enjoyed a delicious lunch with her. Archana decided to stay back and catch up with her friend while Nischal and I proceeded to our accommodation in Melbourne City.
Reconnecting with Old Friends:
One of our friends, Suraj, who works as a head chef in Melbourne, was busy with work, so we decided to meet him after his shift. We checked into our accommodation, freshened up, and took a leisurely walk around the city before meeting Suraj at his restaurant. We indulged in mouthwatering pizzas and drinks while catching up on old times. Later, we visited one of the biggest casinos in Melbourne, the Crown Tower Casino, and had a great time trying our luck at the games.
The Great Ocean Road Adventure Begins The following day, Nischal and I picked up Suraj, and Archana joined us as we set off towards our leading destination, The Twelve Apostles. We checked the car’s fuel and tire pressure before hitting the road. The drive along the Great Ocean Road was breathtaking, with stunning views of green hills and the ocean. After a pit stop for breakfast at a fuel station, we continued our journey towards The Twelve Apostles, a 3-hour drive from Melbourne.
Mesmerising Views and Must-Visit Places:
Finally, we reached The Twelve Apostles, and the sight was awe-inspiring. The towering limestone stacks rising from the turquoise waters of the Southern Ocean were a sight to behold. We spent ample time capturing the picturesque views and creating memories that will last a lifetime. We also visited other nearby attractions like Loch Ard Gorge, Thunder Cave, London Bridge, and Gibson Steps, which were equally stunning and worth adding to any travel bucket list.
Unforgettable Moments and Nostalgia:
After a day filled with adventure and natural beauty, we took the motorway route back to Melbourne, playing music and reminiscing about old times. We had dinner in the city and dropped Archana at her friend’s house, where we spent more time together, recalling our memories from the trip. The following day, we had breakfast, washed our car, and bid farewell to our dear friend Suraj. Saying goodbye was hard, but we were grateful for the unforgettable moments we had shared.
Conclusion:
As we headed to the airport, we couldn’t help but feel a heavy heart as we said our goodbyes. Our road trip to The Twelve Apostles was a journey of friendship, adventure, and beautiful memories that we will cherish forever. It reminded us of the importance of taking time out of our busy lives to reconnect with friends and explore new places.
